Display multiple Scopus Cited By links * If an article has two Scopus EIDs, then display two Cited By citation links. For example: "Scopus(40, 49)"
Original Issue Report:
The scopus data for these articles are missing large numbers of citations:
http://www.plosgenetics.org/article/related/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pgen.0010078 Only 9 citations are indicated, whereas there are 92 in Scopus.
http://www.plosgenetics.org/article/related/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pgen.0010047 Zero citations are indicated, whereas there are 14 in Scopus
I checked in Scopus itself, and the explanation seems to be that articles are sometimes cited with the page number rather than the enumber. The implication is that the search query in our application has not been optimally constructed. Ideally, our ALM application should be combining all citations whether they are to the enumber or the page number. If this cannot be done, the search query should limit to the enumber.
I have not checked this issue broadly, but please check the search query as soon as possible to see whether I've interpreted these problems correctly.
